HISTORY
1992
The company, which is a member of the Willi Betz Group, launched in 1992 its operations as a general distributor of Mercedes-Benz products.
1999
As of July 1999, Balkan Star extended its operations with the distributor agreement of the Chrysler and Jeep®.
2002
In June 2002, Balkan Star became an exclusive distributor of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in Bulgaria.
The company launched its operations in Plovdiv and offered the sale of new and used vehicles, as well as servicing, of all brands for customers in the region of Central South Bulgaria.
2005
Since 2005, Balkan Star has been a representative of the Setra brand in Bulgaria.
In the same year, the company launched its operations at its own affiliate in the city of Varna. The Varna facility sells new and used vehicles and provides servicing of all brands.
2006
With the emergence of Dodge on the European markets in 2006, Balkan Star added this brand to its products palette.
The company signed a strategic partnership contract with Allianz for the Allianz Leasing Bulgaria leasing company.
In July 2006, the company opened a new sales and services centre in Plovdiv.
2007
In 2007, Balkan Star operations were split into two levels of distribution – wholesale and retail. The company launched the restructuring of the following new companies: Balkan Star Automotive Ltd, Balkan Star Motors Ltd and Balkan Star Remarketing Ltd.
2008
In 2008, Mitsubishi Fuso became the latest addition to the company’s portfolio.
A new reception facility for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars was opened in early 2008 within the company’s complex in Sofia.
The most modern Balkan Star sales and services facility in Bulgaria was launched on June 12, 2008, in Varna.
