SETRA – Perfection in coaches

The first Setra bus of the S6 series was manufactured in 1951 in the company’s Kessbohrer plant in the city of Ulm, Germany. It immediately attracted the interest by its revolutionary design and self-supported structure – a concept, which was later borrowed by most of the bus manufacturers. Since then, Setra has been constantly aiming at always being a step further than the rest of the bus sector, for instance – in terms of safety, in designing technologies in harmony with the environment, exceptional luxury and passenger comfort. Setra is first of all a bus designed to provide the best service to its passengers in line with the philosophy, underlying of the brand since its inception.

The Kessbohrer company, which manufactures the Setra buses, was acquired in 1995 by the Daimler concern, thus creating the conglomerate between Setra and Mercedes, EvoBus, currently the largest manufacturer of passenger buses in Europe. Some 90,000 Setra buses have been manufactured since the creation of the Brand. Only a tailor-made bus could fully match the requirements of the customer. That is why Setra offers a full range of buses to select from.
